Plant-Based NGO Network

Convening, Facilitating, and Bridge-Building

The Better Food Foundation supports a growing network of nonprofit organizations that collaborate to increase the availability of plant-forward foods and beverages across institutional foodservice settings, including universities, cities, venues, coffee shops, restaurants, events, and more. The Plant-Based NGO Network comprises over 40+ nonprofit organizations with more than 150 members.

We also created the BF Community, a space for advocates, volunteers, professionals, students, faculty, and food service folks to support each other in plant-based food systems change.

Plant-Based NGO Network

The Plant-Based Defaults NGO Network convenes monthly working groups to:

  • Learn and collaborate in a space that fosters insights and innovations by sector

  • Accelerate the growth of plant-based nudge and default strategies in many foodservice settings
  • Share resources, tools, best practices, and research via an online community

  • Gather with like-minded plant-based leaders to support new initiatives

  • Pass policies that promote plant-based strategies

Who Should Join the Online Communities

Plant-Based NGO Network

The network is open to individuals working at an NGO that is actively increasing the availability of plant-forward foods and beverages in food service settings, anywhere food is served. Membership is free but requires participation in the annual meeting and survey.

BF Community

This community is part of a broader group, the BF Community, for food systems advocates. (Professionals, students, faculty, volunteers, food service operators, etc)
