By adopting subtle yet powerful design shifts in menus and dining experiences, many schools, cities, hospitals, events, and other food service locations are significantly reducing carbon emissions and promoting a healthier, more sustainable food system.
Through our work with our partners, volunteers, interns, faculty, and advocates, hundreds of institutions, businesses, and organizations now use Plant-Based Default strategies in their foodservice operations, promoting a climate-smart, plant-centered food system.
To achieve scale, we’ve collaborated with partners, volunteers, and more than 50+ NGO to help institutions adopt the Plant-Based by Default approach as part of their practices for providing healthy, accessible, and climate-friendly food. We work with these partners to implement powerful Nudge strategies that align with the cultures of their organizations and communities.
The following list of adoptions showcases the Plant-Based NGO Network’s efforts to shift to plant-forward diets and make plant-rich food the standard choice. The key provides details on the types of plant-based nudges used and the partner nonprofit organizations involved in these initiatives.
