What if small, science-backed tweaks to a menu or a message could dramatically shift what people choose to eat? That’s the power of behavioral nudges — and in this hands-on workshop, we’ll show you how to wield them.
Building on the enthusiastic response to Better Food Foundation’s “Wink, Wink, Nudge, Nudge” workshop at AVA Conference in Los Angeles, Nudge 2.0 goes deeper. This time, we’re expanding beyond menu design to explore how behavioral science can also shape narratives that normalize plant-based eating — making diet advocacy more effective for everyone.
Over the past year, BFF trained hundreds of advocates through our monthly Nudge Training series to use defaults and other techniques that center on plant-proteins and encourage omnivores to try plant-based dishes. This workshop builds on those foundations with new tools and real-world practice.
Who is this for? Advocates working on institutional food and catering, and advocates crafting narrative campaigns to shift attitudes about our food system.
What you’ll walk away with: Practical, creative skills you can immediately apply to your own advocacy — whether you’re redesigning a dining hall menu or reframing a campaign message.
New to nudges? No problem. You’re welcome to jump in here, but we encourage you to watch our free intro workshop on YouTube or join one of our monthly online trainings at betterfoodfoundation.org first.
This is 100% about building YOUR skills for greater impact.
